Our Founder

Emilie Perrin

Our founder, Emilie, has always had a passion for healthcare. In 2022, she set herself on a mission to earn the Barbara James Service Award through her HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) chapter. She spent every weekend volunteering at Tribute Senior Living in her hometown from 2022 to 2023. Through that, she got over hours of volunteer service. She loved meeting and talking with the residents, but something always stuck out to her. No matter how many times she came in, she rarely heard about the residents’ families visiting them. She saw how much it affected the residents and decided that she needed to make a change. Although she could not force the residents’ families to visit them, she could do little things to make the residents feel loved. She would hand-write all of the residents’ cards for their birthdays, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, and any other holiday. She saw how much the cards made a difference for the residents and how much joy such a simple gesture gave them. After she finished her volunteer term, she continued to make cards for the residents and continued to see the joy they provided. She had a question for herself. If all the residents at Tribute feel this way, do residents at other facilities feel this way too? This was where she came up with Love in Letters. Love in Letters expands the joy of receiving cards to other facilities in her area (and soon to be nationwide).
